Hard to pushEasy to get into the cornersThis is the best quality vacuum head out there. Also, when bristles wear out, they are replaceable, part numbers are included in the paperwork. Excellent product!Excellent productHave an in ground pool in Arizona and have been taking care of my own pools since I was 25 and now I am 62. This works excellent on my coated glass beads pool and I know for sure it would work great with gunfire also if you know how to use it correctly. . If you stub it like a maniac you will wear it out. If you lightly glide the brush on any surface this brush will last you for many many years. This is HAYWARD quality. It comes with the weights use them. You have to use the head and grip the pole in a hovering position like a hovercraft so it's not grinding into the floor of your pool. This is a vacuum not a grinding machine or a stub brush. If you are wearing this brush out too fast then you are using it to scrub and it is not a stub brush it's a vacuum brush. Use your pool brush to scrub!!!!!. This product is worth every penny and more. Don't listen to any negative reviews. For a vinyl liner if there is to much suction and you can't control it and you are sucking up your liner close off the diameter of your vacuum hose with a thick piece of plastic over one end and make a smaller hole in the plastic than the diameter of the hose to lower the pull of the pressure if you don't have a pressure valve control. . Don't waste your money on buying the other garbage vacuum heads on amazon . . Unless you have money to burn buy the HAYWARD and use it the right way. Lightly and let it glide and do the work. Don't be a vacuum maniac.I have been through more than one of the triangular shaped heads. Although I bought them from different places under different branding they were identical. Several of the ones on amazon are identical in manufacturing, just sold through different companies. This one however is much better, much different, and much more heavy duty.1. It disassembles! Basically this means if one part breaks you can remove it and order another from Hayward.2.It is much heavier duty than the others....Thicker, tougher plastic and brushes.3.It is heavy enough to not need weights....in fact at full suction I have a hard time moving it around as it forms an amazing seal...stays on the pool bottom without any issues. I turn my valve back about a 1/4 turn and its perfect...stays down like it should but allow for ease of motion.Basically a better version of most of the pool vacuum heads out there....however...I knocked off one star because the Amazon page implies that it comes either weighted or with weights built in......this is not the case. It in fact does not and the manual that comes with it explains they are and addition for this model (they come standard on another model)Overall great Product and if the weights aren't an issue, I would Highly recommend this vacuum head. Not as easy to use and doesn’t clean as well as I had hoped.I bought the “upgraded” version which the upgrade is three lead perimeter weights. Certainly better at staying down with those weights. Issue is the top and bottom do not “click” together and only stay together if you have the hose connected (I used the threaded connection). Once you separate the hose for storage the head until falls apart which means you can only store it flat and can’t hang in the wall to save space in the pool shed. Guess I could glue or tape it shut but that seems like a little riggin that shouldn’t have to be done.Other than that so far so good.Great pool vacuum, but is slightly heavy for me……..I did not receive the 3 weights that were to be included, therefore cannot adjust the weight distribution. This vacuum head is so heavy that my pool pole bent while trying to move it around the liner. I backed off the suction on the intake valve to get it to move more easily. Sadly, the pool hose connector split when attaching it to the vacuum head. Maybe because it is an older hose with no flex left. It was a very tight fit. In all, this is a very solid product. I will get a new hose eventually. The online photo shows little gaps in the bristles that would allow water though. However, the one I received had a solid wall of bristles around the perimeter of the base. When I dropped the head to the bottom of the pool it acted like a suction cup and I could not slide the head around. I took an exacto-knife and cut out a 1/2” gap every 1” (1” of bristle: 1/2” gap) around the entire perimeter of the unit. After doing this the unit works great. However, most people would likely curse it and return it.Use this to vacuum above ground pool. Have an automatic vac that didn't do a full job but this one does. Transparent head is great for seeing what you're picking up. High quality and heavy dutyPurchased this one to replace the same one that broke. I cant complain, I had the previous one for over 3 years, and used it on a weekly basis, so it paid for itself. As long as this one lasts as long as the other one did, I will be happy. They are not the cheapest on the market for this style of cleaner, but they seem to be good quality.
